Odile Compagnon

Hello, my name is Odile Compagnon, I am an architect and I am also a professor at the School of the Art Institute here in Chicago. In my practice and my teaching, which I want to believe to be resolutely modern, I still always look to the Romanesque architecture of Henry Hobson Richardson and of his followers, like Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge who designed and built the Chicago Cultural Center. I frequently take my students to the building and have them try to figure out as many ways as possible to go from one entrance to the other, discovering all the public spaces that this exploration will take them through. It is through one of these promenades that this 12 minute audio-tour is taking you.
